Description of Program and Relief
Internet and Equipment Support for Distance Learning
The State of California and the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) are partnering with several private companies, business leaders, and philanthropists to bridge the digital divide and provide support for distance learning within the State during the COVID-19 pandemic. Among others, this partnership will prioritize providing Internet access, and laptops and tablets, for students in rural and low-income communities, communities with high percentages of residents with limited English proficiency, and communities with high percentages of residents with limited education attainment.
