Description of Program and Relief
Shared Work Program
The Shared Work Unemployment Compensation Program allows employees to receive a portion of their unemployment benefits while working reduced hours. Employers may divide available work among a group of employees in lieu of a layoff. Employees may receive up to 25 weeks of benefits.

Eligibility Requirements/Restrictions
The employer must elect to participate. Any employer electing to participate must have a positive reserve account, and must not have had a temporary layoff of the affected group of employees within the prior 4-month period before the application.
For an employee to be eligible, they must be regularly employed by the employer, have normal weekly hours reduced by at least 10%, and may not accept or search for work elsewhere than from the employer under the program.
