Description of Program and Relief

Remote Learning Resources

On March 15, 2020, Mayor Bill de Blasio announced that New York City public school buildings would be closed for in-school instruction starting March 16, 2020. The date that schools will reopen for in-classroom instruction remains under review.

Parents and guardians should consult with their child’s classroom teachers for specific resources. Additionally, the New York City Department of Education has uploaded supplemental “learn at home resources” to its website.

The New York City Department of Education is loaning students internet-enabled iPads to support remote learning. Parents of students who wish to request an iPad should fill out the form located here. There is a limit of one device per student, and priority is given to students most in need. Families with multiple students need to fill out a separate form for each student. All devices must be returned when in-class instruction resumes.
