Description of Program and Relief

Help for Victims of Domestic and Gender-Based Violence

The New York City Mayor’s Office to End Domestic and Gender-Based Violence operates Family Justice Centers to help victims and survivors of domestic and gender-based violence. While the Family Justice Center buildings are temporarily closed during the outbreak, they are continuing to provide services and support by phone. The Family Justice Centers can help individuals with planning for their safety; applying for public benefits, housing, and other support services; providing mental health and counseling services; seeking legal help and assistance from law enforcement; and receiving referrals to job trainings and education programs.

These services are free and confidential.
