Description of Program and Relief

Defense Health Program

This program appropriates $82 million in additional funding to the Department of Defense to cover the costs of COVID-19 diagnostic tests and related services for beneficiaries of military TRICARE health plans, as described in Division F, Section 6006(a) of the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (the “FFCRA”).

Funds are appropriated through September 30, 2022.

Eligibility Requirements/Restrictions

This funding is to be used to cover the costs of COVID-19 diagnostic testing and other services for beneficiaries of military TRICARE health plans.

TRICARE is a health program for uniformed service members and their families, National Guard/Reserve members and their families, survivors, former spouses, Medal of Honor recipients and their families, and others registered in the Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (“DEERS”).
