Michael Moritz is an associate in the Personal Representation Department, advising high-net-worth families on domestic and international estate and transfer tax planning, trust and estate administration, and contested fiduciary matters.

Prior to joining Paul, Weiss, Michael represented corporate clients in securities and commercial litigation matters, as well as individuals in contested fiduciary matters. He has maintained an active pro bono litigation practice, representing clients in freedom of information disputes against governmental agencies.

Michael is also a seasoned genealogist, including for individuals seeking ancestry-based dual citizenship. In that regard, while in law school, Michael won the Duke Law Faculty Award for best piece of academic writing for his note, “The Value of Your Ancestors: Gaining ‘Back-Door’ Access to the European Union Through Birthright Citizenship,” published in the Duke Journal of Comparative & International Law.
