We are pleased to share with you the inaugural issue of the Paul, Weiss Private Equity Digest, a new publication that will focus on market trends and practice issues of interest to our private equity clients. This edition examines considerations specific to sponsor-related initial public offerings.

In market news, we note that the statistics showed a mixed bag for private equity firms in August as compared to July. Sponsor-related M&A deals by number and dollar volume were generally down, except for a slight uptick in global sponsor-related M&A volume. Private equity exits by dollar volume in the US were also down, although exits by number showed a small increase. Finally, US private equity fundraising also decreased in August compared to July. We hope that September will be a brighter market, but in any event we will keep you updated on any relevant developments.
