The Chatterjee Group and Rhône Group to Acquire Lummus Technology from McDermott International

Paul, Weiss advised principal investment firm The Chatterjee Group and private equity firm Rhône Group in their joint bid to acquire McDermott International, Inc.’s Lummus Technology Group for a base purchase price of $2.725 billion. Subject to bankruptcy court approval, the Chatterjee Group and Rhône Group will jointly serve as the stalking horse bidder for Lummus Technology in connection with McDermott International’s chapter 11 bankruptcy process. Lummus Technology is a leading licensor of proprietary petrochemicals, refining, gasification and gas processing technologies, and a supplier of proprietary catalysts and related engineering.
