Paul, Weiss is advising MGM in its sale to Amazon for $8.45 billion. MGM is a leading entertainment company focused on the production and global distribution of film and television content across all platforms. The company owns one of the world’s deepest libraries of premium award-winning film and television content. MGM’s over 4,000 beloved film titles, including James Bond, Moonstruck, Rocky, Poltergeist and many other icons, and 17,000 television shows, including Fargo, The Handmaid’s Tale and Vikings, have collectively won more than 180 Academy Awards and 100 Emmys. Completion of the transaction is subject to regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions.
