Marubeni Corporation, one of the largest general trading companies in Japan, announced it has purchased all of the assets and businesses of U.S. grain merchant Gavilon Holdings LLC (Gavilon), except its energy business, for approximately $2.7 billion.
The Paul, Weiss team advising General Atlantic, which acted as a private equity sponsor of Gavilon, included corporate partners Matthew Abbott, Neil Goldman and Dale Sarro, counsel Stephen Koo, Ji Lu and Didier Malaquin; and tax partner Richard Bronstein.
