Paul, Weiss Acknowledged by NYPLI for Efforts in Disability Advocates Case

The Paul, Weiss pro bono team working on behalf of Disability Advocates, Inc. was recognized by New York Lawyers for the Public Interest (NYPLI) in an advertisement in the November 2009 issue of The American Lawyer for their extraordinary efforts in a landmark victory on behalf of individuals with mental illness. As a result of the team's work, the District Court for the Eastern District of New York held that New York State has violated the Americans with Disabilities Act by warehousing individuals with mental illness in adult homes.
