Litigation partner Audra Soloway was featured in Law.com’s latest “How I Made It” column, published on September 21. In the Q&A, Audra discusses her path to becoming co-chair of Paul, Weiss’s Securities Litigation and Enforcement Group, including how she developed her knowledge and experience in this space, why she wanted to become a practice area leader, how the role has helped her understand client needs, and the skills required to be an effective practice group leader.
“A practice group leader must have subject matter expertise above all else,” Audra says. “Our clients look to us to defend significant matters, and our goal always is to provide the talent and legal expertise that will achieve the best possible outcome.”
She also notes the importance of encouraging a range of skills. “It is also very important to me to serve as a role model for the so-called soft skills: hard skills will help you do your own work well, but soft skills will enable you to empower others and elevate the whole group’s performance.”
