Mark Bergman Discusses Conference Board Article in The Deal on Assessing Corporate Strategy
January 26, 2009
In the January 23 issue of The Deal, London-based securities partner Mark Bergman discussed his January article published by The Conference Board titled "The role of the board in turbulent times: Assessing corporate strategy." Mark noted that the article was based on a client alert that originated as an emergency checklist written for corporate clients in September during the turbulent week after the Lehman Brothers bankruptcy. According to Mark, companies need to assess whether they are healthy, and finding out should start with a review of the business plan and its impact on cash flow for the following year. Growth strategies should also be re-evaluated and debt structure and credit facilities need to be reviewed.
