Columbia University Signs Major Lease with Chan Zuckerberg Initiative

Paul, Weiss represented Columbia University in its negotiations with the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative regarding the organization’s lease of 37,840 square feet of office and laboratory space in the Studebaker Building at 615 West 131st Street. The space will bring together top scientists from Columbia University, The Rockefeller University and Yale University to focus on bioengineering immune cells for the early detection, prevention and treatment of a wide variety of diseases.
The Chan Zuckerberg initiative is a philanthropic organization founded by Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan dedicated to solving some of society’s toughest challenges, from eradicating disease and improving education to addressing the needs of local communities.
