Real estate partner Harris B. Freidus and bankruptcy partner Brian S. Hermann participated in the Information Management Network's 3rd Annual Bank & Financial Institutions Special Asset Executive Conference on Real Estate Workouts. Harris chaired the session "Mezz/CMBS Workouts: What makes them different?" which included a discussion of the restructuring plan, the importance of the location of the loan in a restructure and special servicer negotiations. Brian chaired the session "Selling Assets in a Bankruptcy Setting: What are your options?" which explored topics including receiver and banker issues, the risks associated with a sale in a bankruptcy setting, title complexities and the role of the trustee. The program took place March 12 - 13 in New York City.
