Paul, Weiss is recognized for its role in three transactions named in China Business Law Journal's "2011 Deals of the Year" report. The winning deals include:
- Private Equity & Venture Capital - Morgan Stanley PIPE investment in Yongye International, Inc., in which Paul, Weiss advised Morgan Stanley Private Equity Asia in its $50 million equity investment in Yongye, a leading agricultural nutrient company in China;
- M&A: Inbound & Domestic - Motorola's sale of its networks business to Nokia Siemens Networks, B.V, wherein Paul, Weiss advised Motorola in the sale of its networks business in China and Hong Kong; and
- Foreign Direct Investment - Legendary Entertainment film joint venture with a mainland party, in which Paul, Weiss advised Goldman, Sachs & Co. in its role as financial advisor to Legendary Entertainment.
