Brad Karp and Susanna Buergel to Speak at SIFMA Compliance & Legal Seminar

Firm Chairman Brad Karp and litigation partner Susanna Buergel will be participating in two separate panels at the 2022 SIFMA Compliance & Legal Seminar. The conference is the preeminent meeting place for compliance and legal professionals from across the financial services industry.
Brad’s panel, “Civil Litigation Update: Securities Class Actions and other Major Civil Cases,” will address the new frontier of regulatory work and litigation; the Goldman Sachs securities litigation, which Paul, Weiss argued before the Supreme Court last year; evolving trends in ESG and diversity-driven litigation; crypto and term loan challenges; and SPACs and appellate court decisions post-Cyan.
Susanna’s panel, “Litigation Update: Collusion, Manipulation and Deceptive Trading Practices,” will focus on antitrust developments and practice pointers, including the spread of boycott and manipulation theories and class certification opposition strategies; the impact of parallel proceedings, including defending state False Claims Act cases alongside antitrust claims; resolution strategies; and regulatory enforcement and its impact on civil litigation, among other topics.
The conference will take place at the Grande Lakes Orlando from March 20-23. Brad’s panel will take place on March 21 at 12:20 p.m. ET, and Susanna’s panel will take place on March 22 at 10:30 a.m. ET.
