John Nathan and Catherine Nyarady Named AmLaw’s “Litigators of the Week”
- Awards
- November 29, 2012
Litigation partners John Nathan and Catherine Nyarady were named "Litigators of the Week" by The American Lawyer for their same-day patent litigation victories on behalf of Edwards LifeSciences Corporation. On the morning of November 13, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit affirmed a 2010 federal jury verdict that Medtronic, Inc.'s Medtronic CoreValve subsidiary willfully infringed Edwards' U.S. Andersen transcatheter heart valve patent. The appeals court also affirmed the validity of Edwards' patent. Later that same day came news of another win: a U.S. district judge in California dismissed a separate patent infringement suit brought by Medtronic.
