John Carlin Discusses Cybersecurity Threats at Munich Security Conference

National Security and Cybersecurity & Data Protection Chair John Carlin participated in a conversation on “Cyberespionage and Cyber Warfare” at the Munich Security Conference 2025 on February 15. The session explored how foreign cybercriminal groups disrupt critical infrastructure around the world, discussing the origins, tactics and objectives of these groups, their effect on geopolitics in both peace and wartime, and global efforts by law enforcement and intelligence communities to counteract these threats. John was joined by Brett Leatherman, deputy assistant director of the FBI’s Cyber Unit, and Wendi Whitmore, senior vice president at Palo Alto Networks.
