Brad Karp Publishes Op-Ed in The American Lawyer
March 25, 2020
In an op-ed in The American Lawyer titled “The Legal Community Must Protect Workers and Small Businesses From Coronavirus Fallout,” firm Chairman Brad Karp discusses the need for lawyers to help those who face financial devastation as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Brad notes that lawyers can play a vital role in breaking down barriers that prevent those in need from accessing emergency relief programs made available by local, state and federal governments and by nonprofit organizations. “To deal with the economic dislocation of tens of millions of Americans and hundreds of millions of individuals around the globe, the private bar, writ large and in historic numbers, will need to join forces with leading public interest organizations to confront the challenges we now face as a society,” Brad writes. “This is a call to action across our legal community. Our work is only beginning.”
