On March 23, Paul, Weiss hosted a virtual fireside chat between litigation partner and former U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of California Melinda Haag and Columbia Law Professor Katherine Franke in celebration of Women’s History Month. Professor Franke is the director of the Center for Gender & Sexuality Law and is among the nation’s leading legal scholars focused on sexuality, race and religion. She is also the founder and director of the ERA Project, a law and policy think tank established to develop academically rigorous research, policy papers, guidance and strategic leadership on the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) to the U.S. Constitution and an expert on the role of the ERA in advancing the larger cause of gender-based justice. The wide-ranging conversation touched on the ERA, the aftermath of the Dobbs decision and the state of reproductive freedom.
