Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP announced today that Oliver Marcuse will be joining the firm as a partner in the Mergers & Acquisitions practice in the Corporate Department, resident in London. Marcuse advises leading international private equity firms and portfolio companies on a wide variety of transactions.
“Oliver brings deep expertise and trusted relationships with many of the world’s leading private equity firms,” said Paul, Weiss Chairman Brad S. Karp. “His keen understanding of the European private equity space will further enhance our ability to service our clients on their most complex transactions.”
“Oliver has worked on a range of major European private equity and M&A transactions in the last few years,” said Global M&A Co-Chair Roger Johnson, co-head of the London office. “His extensive relationships with private equity sponsors and portfolio companies make him an excellent fit for our premier private equity practice in London.”
Marcuse has considerable experience representing international private equity houses, financial sponsors and portfolio companies on a variety of transactions including leveraged buyouts, acquisitions and disposals, GP-led M&A, secondaries transactions, mergers, joint ventures, co-investments, IPOs, restructurings and refinancings. He has worked across sectors, including healthcare, infrastructure, consumer, industrials, logistics and technology.
Marcuse regularly advises on some of the most complex cross-border private equity deals in Europe. His representations include, among others, Cinven on the sale of Envirotainer to EQT and Mubadala; CVC and Cinven on the acquisition of NewDay; Onex on the acquisition of ICS Healthcare; Permira, Cinven and Mid Europa on the IPO of Allegro; and MiddleGround Capital on the acquisition of Xtrac. He has also spent time on secondment at CVC and Cinven.
Marcuse earned a B.A., with first-class honors, in History from Hatfield College at the University of Durham and a Bachelor of Laws, with distinction, from the University of Law, London. He is admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales.
