Paul, Weiss was recognized in two categories at the Asian Legal Business Japan Law Awards, including “Debt Market Deal of the Year” for our role in advising Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group’s TLAC Bond Issuance, and “M&A Deal of the Year (Midsize)” for our work advising Nichi-Iko Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. in its $736 million acquisition of Sagent Pharmaceuticals. The firm was also shortlisted in the following categories: “International Deal Firm of the Year;” “Banking and Financial Services Law Firm of the Year;” and “Debt Market Deal of the Year” for our role in advising Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group’s senior notes offering; “M&A Deal of the Year: (Premium)” for our involvement in Yokohama Rubber’s $1.2 billion acquisition of Alliance Tire Group.; “International Deal Firm of the Year;” and “Banking and Financial Services Law Firm of the Year.” In addition, corporate partner Tong Yu was shortlisted as “Dealmaker of the Year" and corporate partner Kaye Yoshino was shortlisted as “Woman Lawyer of the Year.” Asian Legal Business is a publication of Thomson Reuters.
