Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP announced today that Austin Pollet has joined the firm as a partner in the Corporate Department, resident in San Francisco. Mr. Pollet’s practice focuses on all aspects of private equity transactions, with a particular emphasis on deals involving technology and technology-enabled companies.
Mr. Pollet is the sixth partner to join Paul, Weiss in its new location in the Bay Area, and the second corporate partner in the office.
“We are excited to welcome Austin, a talented private equity lawyer deeply embedded in the California business and tech community, to our partnership,” said Paul, Weiss Chairman Brad S. Karp. “Austin’s arrival further bolsters our growing transactional capabilities in the region.”
Mr. Pollet represents private equity firms in all aspects of their businesses, including in domestic and cross-border leveraged and management buyouts, venture and growth capital investments, divestitures, other mergers and acquisitions, equity financings, restructurings and work-outs, joint ventures and corporate governance. He has developed a particular concentration on structuring, negotiating and managing the corporate, securities and tax aspects of complex transactions.
“Austin is a rising star in private equity, with substantial experience at a young age across a spectrum of transactions involving high growth technology companies,” said Scott A. Barshay, chair of the Paul, Weiss Corporate Department. “He will be a wonderful addition to our growing team in Northern California.”
Mr. Pollet has advised Francisco Partners in numerous transactions, including its acquisition of RedSail Technologies; its carve-out acquisition of PioneerRx and combination with RedSail; its sales of Capsule Technologies to Philips and eSolutions to Waystar; and its portfolio companies in several transactions. He has also represented Cerberus Capital Management in connection with its acquisition of a controlling stake in Staples’ European operations and FTV Capital in numerous investments, including its acquisitions of DocuPace and 6 Degrees Health. In addition, Mr. Pollet advised on various investments and transactions for HGGC, K1 Investment Management, Tower Arch Capital, True Wind Capital and Vista Equity Partners.
Mr. Pollet earned his B.S. at the University of Southern California, his M.B.A. at the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business, and his J.D. at the University of Southern California’s Gould School of Law.
