Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP announced today that asset management transactional specialist James King will join the firm as a partner in the Corporate Department, resident in London. King will advise clients across a full spectrum of fund and sponsor transactional matters.

King specializes in sponsor strategic and secondaries transactions, including GP minority stake transactions, fund and sponsor-level preferred equity transactions, joint ventures and other strategic acquisitions or disposals of asset management businesses, as well as the full spectrum of transactions in the private funds secondary market. His recent representations include Park Square Capital on its strategic minority investment by Bonaccord Capital Partners; IK Partners on its sale of a controlling interest to Wendel; Synova on its sale of a minority stake to Bonaccord Capital Partners; Coller Capital on its strategic minority investment from Hunter Point Capital; PAI Partners on its strategic minority investment by Dyal Capital, a division of Blue Owl Capital; and Basalt Infrastructure Partners on the strategic investment by Colliers into Basalt.
