How did you get into the sports/entertainment industry, and why do you stay?
My first entry into the sports and entertainment industry was as a summer associate at Paul, Weiss in 2014. Sports and entertainment is one of those industries that has touch points across many others. The work is exciting, fast-paced and challenging. Through the work, I've forged incredible relationships and those relationships are one of the reasons I stay.
What’s the most interesting and/or rewarding aspect of your job as president of Power Slap?
Building a sports and [entertainment] business from scratch and partnering with titans of combat sports and business like Dana White, Lorenzo Fertitta and Ari Emanuel. The business has unique daily challenges and is currently experiencing exponential growth. Solving problems, creating value for all stakeholders and continuing to learn and adapt each day are some of the most interesting aspects of the job. The most rewarding aspects are entertaining fans around the world through content streaming and live events; witnessing the thrill felt by winning athletes; and seeing the business grow and succeed.
What advice do you have for others who want to set off into the entertainment industry?
Nothing will beat hard work and dedication; caring about what you do, the work product you create and the people around you; and being trustworthy, loyal and reliable. If you nail those down, you’ll get to where you want to be.
