Antitrust Partner to Join Paul, Weiss in London

Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP announced today that Annie Herdman, a market-leading partner to private equity and corporate clients on EU and UK competition law, will be joining the Antitrust Group as London Head of Antitrust and Foreign Direct Investment. Herdman advises clients on EU, UK and multi-jurisdictional merger control and foreign investment strategy and filings, as well as on EU and UK cartel investigations and antitrust compliance issues.

Herdman has been recognized by The Legal 500 as a “Next Generation Partner” and a “Rising Star” and by Who’s Who Legal as a “Thought Leader” and a “Global Leader,” one of only four UK practitioners listed. She was recently included in Global Competition Review’s list of the world’s top competition lawyers under 40; named by Law.com International as one of the “Best Up-and-Coming Female Lawyers” in the UK; and recognized by MergerLinks as one of the “Top 30 Antitrust Lawyers in EMEA.” Herdman is co-chair of the ICC’s Merger Control Task Force.

Herdman has acted for leading private equity firms and companies on a range of significant antitrust matters, including advising Advent International on its investments in Baxter International Inc.’s BioPharma Solutions business; Bain Capital on its acquisitions of Outsourcing Inc., Mash Holdings and Caverion Corporation; Berkshire Partners on its acquisition of a majority stake in AHEAD; Cinven on its acquisitions of TaxAct, MBCC Admixtures and Archer Technologies; CIRCOR International in its take-private sale to KKR; CVC Capital Partners and its portfolio company System C on the acquisitions of Clevermed and Oxford Computer Consultants; HIG Capital in connection with its acquisition of Avient Corp's Distribution Unit; Kohlberg & Company on its strategic investment from BlackRock Alternatives Long Term Private Capital; and numerous other transactions.

Herdman earned her LL.B., with first class honors, from the University of Exeter. She is admitted to practice in England and Wales, Ireland and Brussels.
