Paul, Weiss, TLDEF and Bloomberg Collaborate to Assist Name Change Petitioners

In celebration of Pride Month, Paul, Weiss collaborated with attorneys from Bloomberg to help 10 pro bono clients obtain legal name changes as part of the Transgender Legal Defense and Education Fund Name Change Project (TLDEF), an initiative serving low-income transgender, gender non-conforming and non-binary people. During a virtual clinic held on June 15, Paul, Weiss and Bloomberg attorneys explained the name change process to our clients and drafted name change petitions that will allow our clients to secure a legal identity that matches their lived experience.

The clinic was organized by pro bono attorneys Jeremy Benjamin and Emily Donohoe. The Paul, Weiss team was supervised by litigation partner Alexia Korberg and corporate partner Ted Ackerman, and included tax partner Rob Holo; corporate counsel Caitlin Kelly and Elanit Snow, associates Rolake Adeniran, Ruel Jerry, Pedram Moussavi and Brendon Smith; and litigation associates Eric Abrams, Dianisbeth Acquie, Jeremy Allen-Arney, Samantha Fry, Kelly Garcia, Scott Kennedy, Renata O’Donnell, Sander Saba, Marc Walkow and Miguel Zamora.
