Paul, Weiss, in partnership with our client Apollo Global Management, hosted a virtual pro bono clinic with legal service provider National Veterans Legal Service Program (NVLSP). NVLSP works with veterans to ensure that the government delivers the benefits to which veterans and active duty personnel are entitled because of disabilities resulting from their military service.
The clinic was part of NVLSP’s Lawyers Serving Warriors Program, which provides free legal assistance through a network of volunteer attorneys to veterans with various military disability issues. Staff attorneys from the NVLSP began the event with a training on discharge upgrade applications and common discharge upgrade arguments, followed by meetings with Army, Navy, Marine Corps and Air Force veterans. The clinic was the final pro bono clinic of the year and hosted in honor of Veteran’s Day.
The Paul, Weiss team included corporate partner Bruce Gutenplan and associates Joseph Boris, Hilary Christian, Reuven Garrett, Stefan Geirhofer, Lauren Greenberg, Sam Griffith, Andrew Heffler, Chad Klitzman, Brian Koziara, Olivia Lanni, Brian Lipshutz, Tanya Manno, Keith Mackie, Mark Pollak, Ian Swenson and Brandon Von Zup. Four attorneys from Apollo Global Management also joined the clinic. The clinic was organized by pro bono attorney Emily Donohoe.
