Paul, Weiss litigation associates Paul Brachman and David Giller were recognized by The American Lawyer’s “Litigation Daily” column for their trial win in a case challenging North Carolina’s voter ID law, alongside their co-counsel Allison Riggs, co-executive director and chief counsel for voting rights at the Southern Coalition for Social Justice. After a 14-day remote bench trial, the majority of a three-judge panel in Wake County Superior Court last Friday struck down S.B. 824, North Carolina’s 2018 voter ID law, finding it “motivated at least in part by an unconstitutional intent to target African American voters.”
The Paul, Weiss team led by Paul and David also included litigation partners Andrew Ehrlich and Jane O’Brien and associates Benjamin Symons, Amitav Chakraborty, Ryan Rizzuto, Taylor Williams, Samuel Patterson, Matteo Godi and Ethan Merel.
