Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP announced today that six new partners have been elected to the partnership, effective January 1, 2016: Jacob A. Adlerstein, Geoffrey R. Chepiga, Ellen N. Ching, William A. Clareman, Gregory F. Laufer and Claudine Meredith-Goujon. All six are resident in Paul, Weiss's New York office.
"We are delighted to announce the election of these accomplished lawyers to partnership at our firm," said Brad S. Karp, chair of the firm. "They are outstanding lawyers in their respective practice areas, and will continue to serve the firm and our clients with distinction."
Jacob A. Adlerstein will become a partner in the bankruptcy department, where he focuses on bankruptcy matters and corporate restructurings. Mr. Adlerstein received his J.D. from Columbia Law School, where he was both a James Kent and a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar, and his B.A., magna cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania.
Geoffrey R. Chepiga will become a partner in the litigation department, where he focuses on complex litigation and regulatory matters. Mr. Chepiga received his J.D. from Yale Law School and his B.A., cum laude, from Yale University. Mr. Chepiga also received an M.Phil from Cambridge University.
Ellen N. Ching will become a partner in the corporate department, where she focuses on mergers and acquisitions and private equity transactions. Ms. Ching received her J.D., cum laude, from Harvard Law School and her A.B., magna cum laude, from Harvard University.
William A. Clareman will become a partner in the litigation department, where he focuses on civil litigation and regulatory matters. Mr. Clareman received his J.D., magna cum laude, from Cornell Law School and his B.A., with honors, from Wesleyan University.
Gregory F. Laufer will become a partner in the litigation department, where he focuses on complex litigation matters. Mr. Laufer received his J.D. from Cornell Law School and his B.A. from Georgetown University. Mr. Laufer also received a Masters in International Business Law from l'Institut d'Études Politiques de Paris.
Claudine Meredith-Goujon will become a partner in the corporate department, where she focuses on intellectual property matters. Ms. Meredith-Goujon received her J.D. from New York University School of Law and her B.A. from Indiana University.
