Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP announced today that five new partners have been elected to the partnership, effective January 1, 2015: Edward T. Ackerman, Catherine L. Goodall, Amran Hussein, Brian M. Janson and Jennifer H. Wu. All five are resident in Paul, Weiss's New York office.
"We are proud to announce the election of these outstanding lawyers to partnership at our firm," said Brad S. Karp, chair of the firm. "They are extraordinary lawyers in their respective practice areas, and will continue to serve the firm and our clients with distinction."
Edward T. Ackerman will become a partner in the corporate department, where he focuses on mergers and acquisitions and private equity transactions. Mr. Ackerman received his J.D., magna cum laude, from Brooklyn Law School, where he was Associate Managing Editor of the Brooklyn Law Review. Mr. Ackerman received his B.A. from New York University's College of Arts and Science.
Catherine L. Goodall will become a partner in the corporate department, where she focuses on corporate finance and securities transactions. Ms. Goodall received her J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law and her B.S. from the University of Virginia.
Amran Hussein will become a partner in the corporate department, where she focuses on private investment funds. Ms. Hussein received her J.D. from New York University School of Law, where she served as staff editor for the New York University Review of Law and Social Change. Ms. Hussein received her B.A. from Smith College.
Brian M. Janson will become a partner in the corporate department, where he focuses on capital markets transactions. Mr. Janson received his J.D., with high honors, from the University of North Carolina School of Law. Mr. Janson received his B.S. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Jennifer H. Wu will become a partner in the litigation department, where she focuses on patent litigation matters. Prior to joining Paul, Weiss, Ms. Wu clerked for Judge Alan D. Lourie at the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Ms. Wu received her J.D., cum laude, from New York University School of Law and her A.B., cum laude, from Harvard University.
